The video shows making inglorious plants into juices and soups, where their inglory is unnoticed. Nobody cares if their carrot juice comes from ugly carrots. Why not just use them for that purpose and let people buy and eat the whole glorious ones? But, hey, whatever, the market is selling a less desirable product at a lower price. That's standard, unremarkable supply and demand. It's a fine idea but I guess I don't see it as revolutionary.

I would welcome my fruit in any shape especially if it is cheaper. It is ridiculous that all fruit and veg should be a perfect shape it all tastes the same whatever shape it is so those who only want perfect shaped things (including human beings) should get a life.

Watch a couple of episodes of "How It's Made" and you'll probably agree with me that regularly shaped fruit is essential for all of the automated processes that cut, peel, seed and process fruits and vegetables. Better to let a consumer figure out what to do with a three legged carrot.

I find the modern potatoes and carrots disturbing. Far too consistent in shape, no dirt, and rather plastic looking. Back in the 70's a sack of spuds came coated with dirt and potatoes of various shapes. Carrots were often oddly shaped, a perfect "bugs bunny" cartoon type carrot was rare. So I'd welcome a return to properly grown natural product, especial if it were 30% cheaper! Right now, to get normal fruit and veg you need to pay more for it at a farm shop!
